“I’m SO stressed! My life is so hectic right now! I wish there were more than 24 hours in a day!” I don’t get enough sleep!” I hear this all the time, from so many people. Including myself!
Not realizing the daily stresses of life and lack of sleep can definitely take a toll on your body, and, in my opinion, can speed up the aging process. That’s right! It’s not just getting old that can make you look old. Not taking some “Me” time can certainly speed up the wrinkles and sagging skin. YIKES is right!
So, if you’re worried that your starting to look “old” for your age, or if you’re already old and you are not supportive of that sagging skin, then try adding these 3 simple steps using natural everyday ingredients to you beauty regimen, to get that tight refreshed younger looking face. Think of it as a facelift without having to take a trip to the doctor!
I’ve been using these at-home DIY facials treatments for over 2 months. I love it. They work amazingly. I’m big into using natural products on my hair and skin. I love juicing and have been gearing towards a natural lifestyle all together. When you look at some of the ingredients in all so called natural products you purchase from the store, you can learn a thing or two.
Below is a 3 step at-home facial treatments. They each have amazing properties. They will smooth, plump and tighten your face. Just think, some pay hundreds, if not, thousands of dollars for a facelift ,and the only thing it will cost you is a trip to the grocery store and a little “me” time.
Step 1: Silky Smooth Exfoliator
1 tbsp brown sugar
1tbsp extra virgin olive oil
~~ The brown sugar will help in smoothing out the skin while the olive oil moisturizes. ~~
Directions
In a small mixing bowl, mix together the brown sugar and olive oil until it forms a paste. Apply to your face and lightly massage in a circular counter clockwise motion for a few minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
Step 2: Tightening Facial Toner
1 cup of rose water ( I generally mix 1/2 rosewater and 1/2 water)
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp witch hazel
5 drops of almond oil
~~ Both the rosewater and witch hazel serves as an astringent, which helps in shrinking and tightening the pores. The lemon juice aids in fighting wrinkles and brightening the skin, while the almond oil is rich in antioxidents that helps the skin with building new cells.~~
Directions
Add all the ingredients into a mixing bowl, preferably with a pour spout, and mix well. Dab the mixture onto your face with a cotton ball and allow the application to dry. (The reason you want to use a mixing bowl with a pour spout is because there will be left over astringent that you can use daily. Pour the remaining homemade astringent into a small bottle and refrigerate.)
Step 3: Cell Boosting Moisturizing Facial Mask
2 tbsp of your favorite moisturizer
1 egg white
2 pinches of turmeric *(See below for Turmeric and it’s amazing properties)*
1 tsp Manuka honey
***Turmeric is a spice used in cooking as well as medicine. It’s imported from India and it has powerful antioxidants. A recent study found that curcumin, the main ingredient in Turmeric, appeared to block an enzyme that promotes the growth of head and neck cancer. ***
~~ The egg white tightens, while the turmeric and honey stimulate the skin and plumps it up, helping to build collagen, which helps create a smoother look.~~
Directions
Mix the egg white, turmeric and honey together to make a pasty consistency. Apply to face evenly, avoiding eye area, and leave the mask on for 20 minutes. Rinse well with warm water.
If you don’t have any of the products listed above, you should be able to find all of them at your local grocery store. Makuna honey may be the only product you may not find at your local grocery store. You will find this at Whole Foods. It’s all about the homemade DIY beauty regimen.
Up next….. some amazing face masks you don’t know whether to eat or apply to your face. 🙂
Now go get yourself a glass of wine or a glass of carrot juice, and have fun trying this DIY Moisturizing Facelift. Enjoy your “ME” time!
