What’s your ideal Sunday Morning?

I’m still trying to work on having my perfect Sunday morning. On television, it’s all about couples snuggling up in perfect white doona covers, unsoiled by accidental coffee-spillage and undisturbed by toast crums, to do the Sunday morning crossword.

Well, I don’t have a white doona cover.

Sunday mornings used to mean early wake ups and the smell of fresh brewing coffee, bacon and eggs. It meant serving customers with a smile and suppressing the urge to vomit from a forceful hangover.

Now, Sunday mornings mean waking up without much purpose, considering the weather and whether or not it’d be lazy to go back to bed.

It means heading to the shopping centre without much purpose or direction, and being stuck for something to do.

It means looking at other people’s Facebook feeds and wondering whether everyone’s lives are really that perfect, or if it’s just the effect of another filter on Instagram.

Nope, Sunday mornings are not yet perfect. But at least I wake up to a friendly smile and my new 4th Gen iPad.

What’s your ideal Sunday Morning?

AS a huge fan of RUSH I just had to write about this. I have to say I cried when I saw that RUSH was on the ballot for the HALL OF FAME. It’s about damn time.

It’s official; Rush will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. They will join the greats such as, Heart, Randy Newman, Albert King, and Donna Summer. Lou Adler and Quincy Jones will both receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award for non-performers. The ceremony will be held on April 18 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.

Bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee told Rolling Stone, “It’s a terrific honor and we’ll show up smiling…It made my mom happy, so that’s worth it.” He added, “It was a cause [Rush fans] championed,” he says. “I’m very relieved for them and we share this honor with them, for sure.”RushBTLS3_660-660x368

The band also issued an official statement: “We are honored to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The 3 of us are especially appreciative of our loyal fans whose support and dedication has gone a long way to making this possible. P.S. And special thanks to our moms for voting 6000 times!”
Well let me tell you RUSH, I think I have your mothers beat.
