Grilling is Good

FINALLY!

I’ve been dying to get a grill for the new place in Boston, since we moved in this place in February. I’ve just been to busy, and quite frankly, good grills are expensive.
I wanted a grill that was small, but big enough to look decent in my backyard. The good thing about waiting until now is it’s getting close to the end of the summer season. Grills in many stores are going on sale. So being busy and not actually having one for this summer didn’t really bother me as much. I’m enjoying getting to know my all new neighbors and I’m looking forward to inviting them over for some grilling and drinks.

Today was the perfect day to break the new grill in. It was 79 degrees with a warm sunnily breeze. I had my Black Keys, Gaslight Anthem, and Kings of Leon album blasting in the background, and some good food on the menu.

Grilled some eggplant and zucchini. Had some chicken thighs marinated in barbecue sauce and cracked open my Reserved Martha’s Vineyard Malbec wine.

David’s Going to throw some steaks on tomorrow and I’ll try for the first time grilling fresh corn. I’m sure I’ll be posting the results.
Hope your having an awesome weekend .
The best part is David loves grilling, so although, I love to cook and try new dishes, it looks like with this new grill, I’ll get to hang up my oven mitts more often. We’ll be using our grill throughout the winter I’m sure.

So YAY! Here’s to the new addition to the family. I guess I’ll have to think of a name for it.

NASA’s LADEE Moon Launch

Just sat outside in my yard and watched NASA’s LADEE up in the sky. It was pretty far being I’m in Boston but it was clear that I jaws viewing the rocket. So awesome. Yes I am very much a GEEK.

NASA’s Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE, pronounced like “laddie”) is a robotic mission that will orbit the moon to gather detailed information about the lunar atmosphere, conditions near the surface and environmental influences on lunar dust. A thorough understanding of these characteristics will address long-standing unknowns, and help scientists understand other planetary bodies as well.

Appreciation Seems To Be Getting Lost!

I am starting to notice a huge trend in the lack of appreciation within today’s generation. It’s like it’s becoming the world of spoiled brats.

Here’s a funny spin, but of course some very real tidbits on NOT forgetting about APPRECIATION.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

There are two reason,s this year, I’m loving the Boston Red Sox. One I love the Red Sox and two their in first place as of now in the American League East division. Woo yeah!

The Green Monster, the fun name given to Fenway Park, has such a warm enclosure. You ready for this, I’ve never been to The Green Monster, except, for the outside.

I’ve been to several Boston Bruins games, a Patriots game, and many other sporting events, just not a Red Sox game. Not yet anyway.

I was in Boston doing some shopping and on my way back home i decided to drive past the venue I’ll be playing a show in with my band on September 27th called Copperfield’s and wouldn’t you know it, it’s right around the corner from Fenway Park. So I snapped a few shot of The Green Monster.

I will be attending a game at some point this year and I’ll be taking snap shots from the inside.

A Movie Theatre Ticket Worth The Money

Having such crazy busy schedules David and I make sure to at least have 1 night a week we call date night. So last night was date night for us.
We decided to go to the movies. Normally, we don’t like having to pay such high prices for a movie ticket, so we tend to find theaters that have the movie we want to see but for a cheaper price. We found this quaint movie theater in Arlington, MA called, The Capitol.

When my boyfriend told me they served wine there It certainly caught was interested. Yes, I like having a glass of wine and some movie snacks, while watching a movie and most places don’t accommodate.

I will say that the price of the movie ticket was just like any Mega Theater. Well, maybe, $1.00 less. Let me partially correct what I stated earlier about not liking to pay high prices for a movie ticket. We don’t mind paying those higher priced movie theatre tickets, if it’s a movie theater that has some history behind it or has a vintage style theme with high recommendations. You know, smaller mom and pop style theaters where you can tell they care about the venue and the patrons that attend, and it shows. Just like this awesome drive-in movie theater we went to a couple of weeks ago. It was awesome.

I really loved the warm cozy feeling at The Captiol. The dynamic of the crowd and the employees were very friendly. The popcorn was excellent. The seats were comfortable, The only thing I didn’t enjoy was my wine being served in a cheap plastic cup. I don’t care what you tell me, even an expensive excellent flavored red wine will taste like crap in a plastic cup. I completely understand that using real wine glasses in a movie theater could be hazardous. They should at least invest in those plastic wine glasses. Give the illusion. Who knows maybe that whole placebo effect will kick in and trick your mind that drinking out of that plastic wine glass will do just fine. LoL.

We’re definitely going back and next time I think I’ll bring my own plastic wine glass.

Being a big fan of some of Quentin Tarantino’s work, we’ll most likely be attending the Tarantino extravaganza The Capitol has coming up.
